         The novel, Bearstone, takes its name from a small sculpture that Cloyd, the main character, finds while exploring.  He hopes that the bearstone will bring him luck in the future.  Many Indian cultures believed in symbols throughout their life.  The American Indian culture is one of uniqueness and interest.

 

 

Native American Web Quest

 

Welcome to the Native American Web Quest.  The purpose is to give students a general introductory overview of some of the many Native American Tribes in North America.  The students will be able to explore various links that have information and/or activities on a tribe’s culture, clothing, food, and forms of shelter.  By the end of this web quest the student should be able to complete a comparison chart on 4 different tribes and label their locations on a map   Included at the end of the web quest, are several links that provide great supplementary information and online activities.  As a final conclusion to the webquest, students should write a brief report examining Cloyd's view of the Ute tribe and their own personal view of a tribe after researching.
